She Matters Foundation

A mission, vision and movement

Stichting She Matters is a registered Dutch foundation based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Our mission is to empower female newcomers to build their social and economic capital, boost their self-confidence and become leaders in their homes, businesses and communities.

We envision a world where the economic empowerment of all women isn’t just a dream, but a norm.

As a foundation, we work hand-in-hand with the private sector to develop hidden and diverse talents.

Our history

She Matters Foundation was founded in 2017 in The Hague, the city of peace and justice.

Established out of the founder’s passion, personal experience in overcoming poverty and adversity, and in response to the overwhelmingly high unemployment of female newcomers in the Netherlands and across Europe.

Social impact

The United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.

Of the 17 goals defined by the UN, She Matters contributes to 7 of these.

By uncovering pathways to social and economic participation, leading them to an ecosystem of partnership-enabled education and employment opportunities to achieve their unique career goals.

So that no one is deprived of livelihood simply because their skills are invisible due to their status, race, gender or creed.

Our strategy, budget and annual reports

Our strategy document, budget and annual reports provide more information about our goals, organisation, partners, results and financial details.
