Womens Rising: Breaking Barriers to Enter the Labour Market

She Matters Foundation partnered with Deloitte Women’s Network to create an empowering event at the Edge in Amsterdam. This event was a dedicated effort to inspire and inform migrant women in the Netherlands who are working towards integrating into the Dutch labour market.

The core objective of this was to provide mentorship and equip 10 migrant women with the tools and inspiration they needed to make a successful entry into the Dutch labour market. The event focused on the challenges they faced when finding employment in the Netherlands such as lack of network, unfamiliarity with the application/interview process and lack of soft skill.s

To tackle these challenges, the event featured presentations from four inspirational and educational speakers:

• Maud van Burn

• Sissel Brink

• Reina-Flor Okra

The event also featured a gift from Soles4Souls, a non-profit organisation based in the U.S. as a symbol of out collective commitment to our participants’ journey. Finally, each participant was marched with a mentor from Deloitte who will provide practical guidance and support as they continue to navigate the labour market.

The event was a reminder that diversity is a strength and that empowering migrant women from all backgrounds enriches our communities and contributes to a more inclusive and equitable society.
