We succeed through a skills and qualifications mapping, one-to-one career coaching and careful selection, resulting in higher quality candidates who are closely matched to our corporate clients’ needs.
Together with the private sector, we work to transform female newcomers into a driving force for social and economic growth.
Each applicant is carefully selected through a pre-screening, interview process based on hard and soft criteria:
- College level education
- Experience in one of the four sectors
- Valid Dutch residence permit (statushouder)
- Completion of the Dutch Civic integration exam
- Mastery of the Dutch language (level A2)

Once admitted into the programme, our candidates receives a skills assessment that provides insight into their aptitude, soft skills and ability to succeed throughout their career. For our candidates, the assessment provides an overview of their skillsets and how these match with various occupations in the labour market.
A quick, scientifically proven method of ensuring a match between our candidates and employers.
Lotus flower programme
Implemented through She Matters Foundation and corporate sponsors, the Lotus Flower Programme aims to empower our candidates with the knowledge, skills and emotional support to enter the labour market.
During the program, the candidates go through the following workshops:
- Dutch culture in business
- Intercultural communication skills
- Employee rights and gender norms
- Drawing up a strong profile
- Using social media for their network
- Interview skills
- Personal branding and more
It’s not enough to simply provide workshops or place our candidates into employment. We aim to provide every candidate with emotional support to maximise her chances of success in the labor market.
Through our mentoring programme, each candidate is matched with a female mentor whose role is to provide career guidance and practical support. For example, candidates can speak to their mentors about workplace norms, or if they need general advice on childcare, banking, interviews, etc.
