Strategic Finance Manager

Our client is a Dutch family company, boasting a 150-year legacy of craftsmanship, that has evolved into an international organisation with notable growth potential and development opportunities, and is currently seeking a Strategic Finance Manager to join their commercial team in Schijndel. 

As the Strategic Finance Manager, you direct the product categories in the companies group from a financial perspective. There are two main areas of responsibilities. Firstly, you proactively propose and initiate Business Model improvement opportunities in the markets and cost saving opportunities. Secondly, you copilot the operations division and the costing activities at the head office. You report directly to the CFO, the Operations Controller reports to you and you work closely with the Product Oriented Delivery (POD) team and the Innovation Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Your main duty is giving solicited and unsolicited advice on the company's business model and proposing opportunities for improvement through market opportunities and cost savings.
  • You advise the board on possible (long-term) improvements to the branded and non-branded Category Business Model.
  • Propose ways to improve the profitability of the various product categories.
  • Providing the company, and the POD Team in particular, with business insights in order to improve profitability and decision-making in future projects.
  • Identify, analyse and report category results in the monthly P&L results of the entire group chain (purchasing – production – logistics – sales)
  • Provide Business Case Analyses, challenge input from the business units and ensure profitability is monitored in new projects.
  • Manage strategic projects at category group level.
  • Together with the team in Poland and the Senior Business Analyst, you direct strategic, tactical and budget planning processes for business operations.
  • Prepare financial project evaluations (investments and reallocations) of investments in SSC and Moerdijk, and ensure proper use of the company’s Resources.
  • Working with the Operations Controller in Poland to ensure the realisation of production related cost improvement initiatives.
  • Every quarter or more often, depending on various cost developments, you manage the ICP/costing scenario process with procurement, supply and operations.

Requirements:

  • You hold a Master’s degree or PhD in business economics or business administration, or an RA/RC degree.
  • You have at least 10 years of commercial and supply chain experience in an international financial economics position in the consumer goods industry.
  • You have several years of managerial experience, including indirect organisation setups. 
  • You are proficient in Dutch and have a good command of English and German.
  • You are familiar with automation software (MS Office, MicroStrategy BI, JDEdwards). 
  • Competencies: analytic, result-oriented, skilled at project management, proactive, indirect leadership, communicative, collaborative, geared to continuous improvement.
