Maxime ten Brinke

As a graduate in European Studies: Idenitity & Integration at the University of Amsterdam, Maxime always had a fascination for gender, feminism and diversity themes. Growing up with a Caribbean mother and a Dutch father, combined with her passion for women empowerment led to the controversial topic of her final thesis: ‘female blackness through the sounds of music’. One thing led to another: Maxime will be sharing her findings on the topic during the seminar On The Matter Of Blackness in Europe, taking place in Los Angeles, California in October 2019.

As an experienced Project Manager for the Amsterdam based network for female entrepreneurs and investors – TheNextWomen – Maxime is specialised in the field of marketing & communications. She has a huge passion for all women empowerment related projects; precisely why a role within the She Matters team fits her like a glove. Supporting, empowering and inspiring female newcomers lies close to her heart.

Besides her role for TheNextWomen, Maxime takes on freelance projects with a focus on content-, project,- and eventmanagement in and around Amsterdam. In this freelance role, Maxime is supporting She Matters’ mission as a Communications Specialist. Maxime will focus on expanding She Matters’ growth in the field of branding, marketing and communications with a fresh & feminine look and feel. Her full portfolio can be found here.

we recognize how resilient
and striking the women
around us are.’
