Our history
She Matters Foundation was founded in 2017 in The Hague, the city of peace and justice.
Established out of the founder’s passion, personal experience in overcoming poverty and adversity, and in response to the overwhelmingly high unemployment of female newcomers in the Netherlands and across Europe.

She Matters Foundation was founded in 2017 as a not-for-profit with a vision to measurably empower female newcomers with the necessary skills and emotional support to enter the labour market.
Since then we’ve evolved into a hybrid social enterprise, establishing She Matters B.V. in 2018 – a recruitment agency with a mission to empower business’ with international talent, and female newcomers with employment.
We adopted this hybrid structure to stay true to our core, providing maximum social impact while ensuring we have the resources needed to match our talented and skilled candidates with employment.
After all, each job empowers a woman, empowers a community, empowers a country.
