Growing up in The Hague, the city of peace and justice, Lauraine Swaving has always had an interest in human rights and specifically women’s rights. She has a master’s degree in Public International Law. Ms Swaving has worked as a lawyer for a top-tier law firm in Amsterdam for nearly 6 years.  Currently, she is working as a legal counsel for one of the largest real estate developers in the Netherlands.

Ms Swaving has worked together with Christina Moreno before and she is keen to contribute to the mission of She Matters in empowering female newcomers with employment. She believes that every woman should have the opportunity to develop to her full potential and to pursue and achieve her dreams. At She Matters, Ms Swaving is engaged in cultivating partnerships with municipalities and institutions as well as advising on legal matters.

Living a stone’s throw away from the beach, that is where Ms Swaving spends a lot of her free time; whether it is jogging, surfing, or simply collecting seashells. The endless ebb and flow of the ocean and the crashing of the waves on the sand never cease to amaze her.
