Senior Front-End Developer

Temporary Assignment Details 

  • Location:  The Hague in combination with working from home
  • Expected Avg. Hours: 32 - 40 per week
  •  Desired working days: at least Thursday in office, the rest remote
  • Duration: Desired start date: Thursday, August 1, 2024 I Expected end date: Tuesday, December 31, 2024 (with option to extend)

Role Overview

We are currently looking for a  skilled Dutch speaking Senior Front-End Developer, to support our client, a government sector, temporarily, and help them in their digital transformation project. In this role, you’ll be part of a SCRUM team focusing on developing portals, web applications, and landing pages for the travel documents domain (RvIG). You’ll work in a collaborative environment that values openness, courage, respect, focus, and commitment.

- Design and develop front-end applications.

- Conduct technical and functional testing.

- Implement reusable and component-based design systems using front-end frameworks like React.

- Ensure usability and accessibility in development (WCAG / web guidelines).

- Contribute to user experience and current UX design principles.

- Work independently within a SCRUM team.


- 5+ years of experience in front-end development.

- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, SCSS/SASS, JavaScript (ES5/ES6), and TypeScript.

- Experience with unit test tools (Jest/Jasmine) and e2e Robot Framework.

- Familiarity with accessibility requirements (WCAG 2.1) and quality-oriented development (QA, ISO25010).

- Proficiency in communication skills and command of Dutch (oral and written).

- Experience with CI/CD tools (Gitlab CI) and government house style is advantageous.

Additional Skills

- Knowledge of package management (NodeJs, npm) and Webpack.

- Understanding of RESTful APIs/JSON/Odata.

- Experience with code coverage tools (Karma/Jasmine), maintainability analysis tools (SonarQube, ESLint), and automatic test tools (Axe, Jest, Cypress).

- Familiarity with Docker, Portainer, and K8s for managing CI environments.
